Over 20 members of Launceston Road Runners braved the wind and rain to take part in the
second event in the Cornish Grand Prix road running series – the Newquay 10K.
With over 700 entrants, the scene at race HQ was very busy but the race organisers and
marshals had everything in hand and the event ran like clockwork.
Although it is a relatively fast course, there are a couple of challenging sections especially
when faced with a strong headwind – thankfully the worst of the rain had passed before the
race started.
The club were delighted to take three age group category prizes:
Brian Wiles 75+ 1st
Angela Brinnicombe 65+ 1st
Martin Hynes 65+ 2nd
Angela joined LRR only last year and was taking part in her first ever race!
